Child & Adolescent Therapy

Helping kids and teens navigate big feelings, hard moments, and the ordinary challenges of growing up.

Dr. McCain has spent her career working with children and adolescents. Therapy is age-appropriate, family-informed, and grounded in approaches with strong research support — including cognitive-behavioral therapy, parent-child interaction strategies, and behavioral interventions.

Common reasons families come in:

  • Anxiety, worries, panic, and school avoidance
  • Depression, low mood, and self-esteem
  • ADHD, focus, and behavior at home or school
  • Oppositional or defiant behavior
  • Trauma, grief, and adjustment to major life changes
  • Social skills, peer struggles, and bullying
  • Sleep, transitions, and the everyday hard moments of growing up

Psychological & Psychoeducational Evaluation

Thorough, individualized evaluations that lead to clear answers and practical recommendations.

A good evaluation does more than produce a diagnosis — it helps families and individuals understand what is going on and what to do next. Dr. McCain has decades of experience evaluating children referred by schools, pediatricians, and courts.

Evaluations may address:

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Learning differences and academic struggles
  • Autism spectrum and developmental concerns
  • Behavioral and emotional difficulties
  • Anxiety and mood disorders
  • Trauma and its effects on development
  • Pre-school readiness and developmental questions

What you'll receive: a thorough written report, a feedback session to walk through findings, and concrete recommendations for school, home, and any next steps in care.
